Medewell is a non-governmental, non-political, non-religious organisation registered in 2001. It aims to assist the community in providing basic needs to the underprivileged in 3 areas; Medicine, Education and water wells.

Medewell has its headquarters in Dar es Salam and mainly works within the Kibaha district. The organisation works very closely with local communities and enjoys a cordial relationship with the local agencies. With more than 17 years’ experience in Project Management, Medewell is currently focusing on providing affordable healthcare services for the needy, the poor and the vulnerable.

WF-AID expresses gratitude for your generous donation of $17,986 to support the Medewell eye centre in Tanzania. Thanks to your contribution, they were able to acquire a refraction unit.

The refraction unit has significantly benefited the clinic. Previously, the eye centre attended to approximately 1200 patients on a monthly basis. Since acquiring the refraction unit, the number of patients being treated has increased by 160-200, resulting in a total of 1500 patients per month.

The clinic staff are determined to further raise this number in the next six months.

They are actively encouraging general patients to utilize the Fast-Track Services, which not only reduces waiting time but also ensures faster service delivery.
