As the winter chill set in, WF-AID embarked on a mission to Spread Warmth and Compassion to those in need. Through WF-AID’s Winter Appeal, we called upon the generosity of individuals worldwide to extend a helping hand to vulnerable communities facing the harsh realities of the freezing season.

The response was nothing short of remarkable, as people from all walks of life came together to make a difference.

In response to the harsh winter conditions in Afghanistan, WF-AID was committed to assisting families by providing essential winter essentials. Efforts focused on delivering aid to alleviate the hardships faced by vulnerable households.

However, due to the dynamic situation on the ground, final reporting is awaited to ensure the efficient and effective distribution of aid. Your support was crucial in helping us make a meaningful impact during this critical time.

During the cold winters and ongoing emergency in Gaza, WF-AID swiftly responded by distributing essential supplies. These included food parcels, cooked meals, fuel, chadors, medical aid, etc, all aimed at alleviating the harsh conditions faced by vulnerable families.

With the generous support of donors and dedicated volunteers, we ensured that families in Gaza were provided with food and warmth. These essential supplies not only provided nourishment and warmth but also offered a lifeline to individuals grappling with the challenges brought on by the harsh winter and ongoing emergency situation in Gaza.

In response to the harsh winter conditions faced by vulnerable communities in India, a total of 1,720 individuals received blankets as part of WF-AID’s Winter Appeal. These blankets was provided to non-Khoja families residing in critical regions including Kargil, Uri, Baramulla, Bandipora, Budgam, Phalgam, Srinagar, and Shalina-Srinagar.

By extending our support to these areas, we aim to alleviate the impact of cold weather and ensure the well-being of individuals and families during the winter season. This effort reflects our commitment to addressing immediate needs and fostering resilience within communities facing adverse weather conditions.

The objective of this project was to provide essential support to the vulnerable populations in South Lebanon during the harsh winter months. Through the distribution of blankets, our focus centered on reaching remote villages in the interior regions of Sour, Saida, Bint-Jbeil, Marjeyoun, and Nabateye, where winter conditions are particularly severe.

With a keen emphasis on addressing the specific needs of these communities, we aimed to alleviate the challenges posed by the cold weather and ensure the well-being of those most affected. In total, 336 individuals received vital assistance as part of our Winter Appeal, underscoring our commitment to serving and supporting families in times of need.

In response to the devastation wrought by the earthquake in Turkey in 2023, WF-AID’s Winter Appeal aimed to provide crucial support to affected families. This comprehensive aid package, comprising of clothes, food, and blankets, addressed the urgent needs of individuals who found themselves displaced and vulnerable.

Many earthquake victims were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs, having lost their belongings to the rubble. With most residing in makeshift shelters such as tents or containers, the need for warmth and sustenance was paramount.

Through this project, we endeavored to offer a lifeline to those grappling with the aftermath of the disaster. 1,920 individuals in Hatay, Samandağ/Antakya/Defne, were provided with essential assistance as part of the Winter Appeal, reflecting our commitment to standing in solidarity with those in crisis.

WF-AID’s Winter Appeal initiative proved to be a beacon of hope for thousands across Pakistan. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our ground partners, a total of 79,065 beneficiaries received the invaluable gift of warmth.

In regions spanning from Sindh to Azad Kashmir, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, and Baluchistan, 67,439 individuals were equipped with blankets or quilts, shielding them from the biting cold.

Additionally, 11,626 individuals, including school students, received warm clothes, shawls, and jackets, ensuring their protection against the harsh winter weather.

With tireless efforts and unwavering commitment, our ground partners worked diligently to extend vital support to those in need during the challenging winter season.
