According to the UN and Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the 2025 monsoon season has become one of the most devastating in recent memory. Since mid-June, relentless rains, flash floods, landslides, and glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) have battered nearly every region of the country. So far, at least 799 people have lost their lives, more than 1,000 have been injured, and over 1 million people have been affected nationwide. An estimated 7,200 homes have been damaged or destroyed, 5,500 livestock lost, and more than 655 km of roads and nearly 230 bridges washed away—severing access to many mountainous and rural communities.
WF-AID is mobilising a rapid response across Pakistan, working with trusted local partners, with a focus on three of the worst-affected regions: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
With mud and water flooding homes, parents and children spend their days locating or shovelling wet soil out of living spaces. Schools, businesses, and farms have ground to a halt, stripping away a vital source of food and income. Entire communities are stranded without food or clean water, and as the cold season looms, the urgency to protect vulnerable families grows sharper.
WF-AID’s immediate priorities are to provide safe shelter, food packs, medical aid, clean water, winter protection, and other essential relief items before conditions worsen, and access routes are completely cut off.
This is an opportunity to help with a donation today that will provide safe shelter for families and deliver aid. With access routes fragile, early support is critical to reach the most remote communities before conditions worsen.
Give now to help flood-affected families survive this emergency and rebuild their lives with dignity.
